The Rise of Generative AI: Benefits and Dangers for Professionals

It is, of course, the topic of the moment. It is producing both fear and excitement in roughly equal measures, particularly for the legal profession.
However, the important point is that, for the legal profession especially, doing things in the same old way is no longer an option; in fact, it is increasingly a recipe for disaster. I believe that those who are prepared to innovate and embrace what is increasingly becoming known as the 4th Industrial Revolution are the ones who will prosper. In addition, the generations that follow me have been raised in a world where the internet, a mobile phone, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, “folders” on a disc drive, and so on, are simply additional natural appendages. These generations are more open to technological innovation and will increasingly occupy senior positions in all the professions. Change, as a result, will only accelerate.
