Merger and Acquisition During Covid 19 Situation – Strange Experience

Globally we have been in a strange situation for almost 18 months. Covid 19 has created havoc worldwide. Many lives have been lost and families destroyed. Livelihoods of many have been severely impacted. Businesses could not be an exception. Many of them have been closed down or severely affected. Impact is significant for small and medium sized organisations whereas it is also severe for large entities. Be that as it may, the tech companies and the pharmaceutical enterprises have done exceptionally well. Net giants like Facebook and Google have earned record profits. Also are pharma companies like Pfizer.

Abhijit Mukhopadhyay is President (Legal) and General Counsel of the Hinduja Group and is involved in the Group’s worldwide legal matters based in London since June 2002.
